The First Revelation – morning of Prophethood A Vision That Changed History

The first revelation to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ marked the dawn of Prophethood, a divine vision that transformed hearts, redefined truth, and changed the course of human history forever.

History is filled with defining moments turning points that alter the course of  societies. Among these, none is more profound, more  continuing, and more transformative than the moment when Prophet Muhammad ﷺ  entered the first disclosure from Allah through Angel Jibreel( Gabriel). This single event, in the quiet  solitariness of a  delve

outside Makkah, initiated the final chapter of  godly guidance for humanity. It was n't  simply the  morning of Muhammad’s ﷺ  charge but the dawn of a new  period that changed the spiritual, moral, and social history of the world.

This essay explores the circumstances that led to this disclosure, the profound experience of the Prophet ﷺ, the early  responses, and the monumental impact that continues to shape humanity  moment.

The  AI Era – Islamic Abrahamic Wisdom is not just about machines; it is about humanity redefining its relationship with knowledge, power, and morality. While AI can revolutionize industries, it cannot replace wisdom. The timeless guidance of the Abrahamic tradition—rooted in justice, compassion, and accountability—remains the moral compass humanity needs.

 The World Before Revelation

To appreciate the weight of the first disclosure, one must understand the state of the world before it  passed. Arabia in the 6th century was  gulfed in tribalism,  deification, and moral decline. The Kaaba, firstly  erected by Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام and his son Ismail عليه السلام as a sanctuary for deism, had been filled with  icons . People worshipped  monuments, trees, and stars, forgetting the oneness of Allah.

Makkah,  still, was  further than just a religious  mecca it was also the center of trade. Caravans passed through its  denes

, connecting Arabia to Yemen, Syria, and beyond. Yet, beneath the  profitable substance lay a society fractured by injustice

Women were  frequently treated as property and denied  introductory rights.

The poor and enslaved were oppressed and animalized.

ethnical conflicts were rampant, and  revenge was a way of life.

The world beyond Arabia was n't much better. The Persian and intricate conglomerates,  however  important, were decaying under the weight of corruption,  despotism, and spiritual emptiness. Humanity was in dire need of guidance — a light to pierce through the darkness.

 Prophet Muhammad’s ﷺ Preparation

Indeed before  entering disclosure, Muhammad ﷺ stood  piecemeal from his people. Known asAl- Amin( the Trustworthy)andAs- Sadiq( the veracious), he  noway  worshipped  icons  or indulged in immoral practices. His heart was naturally inclined toward  verity and  chastity.

As he grew aged, his dissatisfaction with the  deification and  shafts of Makkah  strengthened. To find solace, he  frequently retreated to theCave of Hira, a small  grotto in the mountain of Jabal al- Nur, overlooking the  vale of Makkah. There, he'd spend nights in reflection and contemplation, seeking closeness to Allah, down from the corruption of society.

These retreats were n't bare acts of  insulation — they were a  godly medication. Allah was nurturing His Messenger ﷺ, training his heart, and preparing him for the  topmost responsibility ever placed on a  mortal being to carry the final communication of guidance for  humanity.

The Night of Power – Laylat al- Qadr

It was during one of these retreats in the month of Ramadan, around the time 610 CE, that the most momentous event in history took place. The Qur’an  latterly described this night asLaylat al- Qadr( The Night of Power), a night “ better than a thousand months ”( Surah Al- Qadr 973).

The Prophet ﷺ was 40 times old — a mature age when wisdom and strength are at their peak. He was in the Cave of Hira, deeply engaged in reflection, when suddenly, the unseen world broke into his  solitariness.

The Encounter with Angel Jibreel( Gabriel)

Suddenly, the angelJibreel( Gabriel)appeared before Muhammad ﷺ in a majestic form. This was the same angel who had brought  exposures to  before prophets like Musa( Moses) and Isa( Jesus). The moment was inviting, unlike anything the Prophet ﷺ had ever endured.

Jibreel pressed Muhammad ﷺ and commanded

“ Read! ”( Iqra)

The Prophet ﷺ,  untutored and  unfit to read or write, replied

“ I'm not one who can read. ”

Jibreel embraced him tightly again, repeating the command

“ Read! ”

Again, the Prophet ﷺ replied with the same words. A third time, Jibreel pressed him and said

“ Read in the name of your Lord who created —

 Created man from a clot.

Read! And your Lord is the utmost Generous —

 Who  tutored by the pen,

Taught man what he did n't know. ”

 Qur’an, Surah Al- ‘ Alaq 961 – 5)

These were the  veritably first verses of the Qur’an the opening light of disclosure. The words etched themselves into the heart of the Prophet ﷺ,  kindling a  charge that would  transfigure the world.

ATTENTION:

The  The First Revelation – morning of Prophethood A Vision That Changed History, in the Cave of Hira was the spark that lit the arsonist of Islam. It  converted an honest, reflective man into the Messenger of Allah — the  companion for all humanity. That moment marked the  morning of a  charge that would  extract  deification, establish justice, and restore the  deification of one true God.

 The Prophet’s ﷺ response

The experience left Muhammad ﷺ pulsing, shaken to the core. He rushed down the mountain and ran to his home, his heart racing. When he entered, he cried out to his cherished  woman

            ,Khadijah( RA)

“ Cover me! Cover me! ”

She wrapped him in a  mask, assuring him until he calmed. He  also  recited the extraordinary event, his voice filled with both admiration and fear. He bothered “ What's  passing to me? ”

Khadijah, a woman of great wisdom and faith,  comforted him. She said words that reflected her deep conviction in his  chastity and character

****

“ By Allah, Allah will  noway  disgrace you. You maintain the ties of  association, you speak the  verity, you bear the burdens of others, you help the poor, you  recognize your guests, and you  help those  tormented with  disasters. ”

Her unwavering support strengthened him in that  pivotal moment.

 Consultation with Waraqah ibn Nawfal

To further understand the experience, Khadijah took Muhammad ﷺ to her  kinsman,Waraqah ibn Nawfal, a learned Christian who had knowledge of the Holy Writ. After hearing the account, Waraqah  honored the signs. He said

“ This is the same Angel who came to Musa. You have been chosen as a Prophet for this nation. They will oppose you, drive you out, and fight against you. However, I'll support you, If I live to see that day.

This  verified the magnitude of what had just  passed. The final Messenger of Allah had been chosen, and the final chapter of disclosure had begun.

 Pause in Revelation

After this inviting event, disclosure broke for a short period. This gap tested the  tolerance of the Prophet ﷺ and made him long for  farther guidance. It was during this time that he reflected on the  graveness of his  charge. When Jibreel eventually appeared again, bringing verses ofSurah Al- Muddaththir, the command was clear

“ O you who's wrapped up( in a cloak),

 Arise and advise!

 Magnify your Lord,

 Purify your garments,

 And  duck every  contamination. ”

 Qur’an, 741 – 5)

This marked the  sanctioned  morning of his  charge as a Messenger of Allah. No longer was it only a  particular spiritual experience it was now a public responsibility.

 The Transformation of History

The first disclosure was n't only a turning point in Muhammad’s ﷺ life it was the turning point in  mortal history. From that moment

1.The Qur’an began to descend— a book unlike any other,  saved word for word, guiding humanity until the end of time.

2.A revolution of  study and faith began—  deification was challenged, and pure deism was restored.

3.Justice and  equivalency were  placarded— the  tyrannized, the poor, and women  set up  quality in Islam.

4.A global  charge was born— from a  delve

in Makkah, the communication would soon spread across Arabia,  also the world.

 Assignments from the First Revelation

1.The Power of Knowledge– The first word revealed was “ Read ”, emphasizing that knowledge is the foundation of faith and progress. Islam began with a command to seek knowledge, not with a  brand or a throne.

2.Divine Wisdom in Preparation– The Prophet ﷺ’s life before disclosure — his honesty,  chastity, and retreats was all medication. Great  operations bear medication of the soul and heart.

3.Support System Matters– The  part of Khadijah( RA) shows how faith, love, and  stimulant can strengthen a person to fulfill their  charge.

4.Every morning is Challenging– Indeed the Prophet ﷺ felt fear,  mistrustfulness, and anxiety. But with Allah’s help, he crushed them. This teaches us that  mortal weakness is natural, but  godly support brings strength.

5.Guidance is for All Humanity– The first disclosure was n't for Muhammad ﷺ alone, nor for Quraysh alone. It was for all of  humanity.

 Conclusion

The first disclosure in the Cave of Hira was the spark that lit the arsonist of Islam. It  converted an honest, reflective man into the Messenger of Allah — the  companion for all humanity. That moment marked the  morning of a  charge that would  extract  deification, establish justice, and restore the  deification of one true God.

What began with the simple command“ Read ”has since illuminated billions of lives across centuries and  mainlands. The Qur’an revealed that night continues to guide, comfort, and inspire. Indeed, thefirst disclosure was n't just a vision in a  delve it was a vision that changed history  ever.
