Role Overview: The Data Engineering Architect (Microsoft Fabric) will lead the design, development, and optimization of end to end data platforms built on Microsoft Fabric, ensuring scalable, secure, and high performance data solutions. This fractional cio services role serves as a technical leader who defines architecture standards, governs data engineering best practices, and collaborates closely with business, analytics, and engineering teams to deliver enterprise-grade data capabilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications: •       Experience o       8–12+ years of experience in data engineering o       Minimum 3+ years in data architecture or solution architecture roles •       Microsoft Fabric Expertise o       OneLake and Lakehouse architecture o       Data Factory pipelines o       Synapse Data Engineering & Data Warehousing o       Real-Time Analytics (KQL) o       Power BI, including Direct Lake and semantic models •       Programming & Data Processing o       Strong proficiency in Python, SQL o       Hands-on experience with PySpark fractional cio services and Apache Spark o       Deep understanding of Delta Lake and ACID-compliant Lakehouse principles •       Data Architecture & Design o       Experience with modern data architectures:        Lakehouse        Medallion architecture        Data Mesh o       Strong understanding of data modeling and performance optimization •       Platform & Engineering Practices o       Solid knowledge of data governance and metadata management o       Experience with MLOps, DataOps, and DevOps practices o       Strong understanding of cloud architecture, preferably Microsoft Azure

Preferred Qualifications: •       Certifications o       Microsoft Fabric certification(s) o       Azure Data Engineering certifications •       Migration & Modernization o       Experience migrating from legacy Benchinfo analytics platforms such as:        SSIS        SSAS        ADF        Synapse (classic) o       Proven ability to modernize enterprise analytics platforms to Microsoft Fabric •       Enterprise & Leadership Exposure o       Experience working with enterprise-scale data platforms o       Exposure to multi-region and global cloud environments o       Experience leading ippb credit card architecture forums, design reviews, or technical authority groups
