BISP 8171 does not currently operate a single official portal where you can enter your CNIC and see your grant balance like a bank account. The process involves checking your payment status or eligibility through official BISP channels, and then using your BISP Debit Card (issued by partnered banks like HBL, Bank Alfalah, or UBL) to check the actual balance.
Here are the official and recommended methods:
Method 1: Check Eligibility & Payment Status (Official BISP 8171 Web Portal)
This is the primary way to verify if a payment has been issued to you.
- Visit the Official BISP 8171 Portal: https://8171.bisp.gov.pk/
- Select the " Ehsaas 8171 " or " Benazir 8171 " option.
- Enter your 13-digit CNIC number (without dashes).
- Enter the displayed Captcha code.
- Click "Submit".
- The result will show:
- Your Eligibility Status (Eligible or Not Eligible).
- Your Payment Status (e.g., "Payment has been processed," along with the quarter and amount).
- **The name of the payment partner bank where your funds have been dispatched (e.g., HBL, Bank Alfalah).
Method 2: Check Balance via Your BISP Debit Card (Most Common)
Once you know a payment has been sent, you can check the actual balance using the debit card issued to you by the partner bank.
- ATMs: Go to any ATM of the bank that issued your card (HBL, Alfalah, UBL, etc.). Insert your card, enter your PIN, and select "Balance Inquiry."
- Bank Branch: Visit your designated partner bank's branch with your CNIC and BISP card.
- SMS Service (Bank Specific): Some partner banks offer SMS services. You usually need to register your mobile number with the bank first. Check with your bank's helpline for this service.
Method 3: Official BISP SMS Service (8171)
This is the most widely used and direct method.
- On your mobile phone, go to your messaging app.
- Type your 13-digit CNIC number (without dashes).
- Send it to the shortcode
8171.
- You will receive an automated SMS reply stating your eligibility and payment status, including the last disbursed amount.
