Having a sister is the best gift on this planet; it’s literally having a best friend, mother and non-judgemental human that is always there to support, love and care for you. If you are lucky enough to have a sister who is your best friend, even through the good and the bad, then you need to treat them to something that is not only thoughtful to say thank you for being the best sister, but also that is personalised to them.
There are so many options out there, but here are my top 5 favourite personalised gifts that I’ve both bought and will purchase in the future.
A classic and staple, but when done properly, it is a great idea. There are the classic Arabic name necklaces you can go for, but they could include their child's name, their pet's name or something of that sort. Alternatively, you could get something that is out of the box within jewellery.
My sister got me a personalised cat ring with my cats on it last year and it was a complete home run because not only was it exactly what I loved in jewellery but it was also personal to me, even a cat ring with no personalisations to me would have been amazing but the extra mile she went to get the cats engraved to be my own was so special and very different from your classic personalised gifts.
Some people are really into their stars and horoscopes, and if your sister is, then it’s a perfect little birthday gift, extra if you include a picture of the stars in the sky on the day they were born. You could also do a day that is really special to you both, whether it’s a day on holiday when you both remember laughing all evening or a heartfelt moment you have shared.
There are so many ways for you to capture a moment differently, but also remind them that you love and think of them beyond the basics. Sisterly love is just so different; therefore, unique gifts are a must to share.
To touch on that, when you have a sister, you share so many unique experiences for decades with her, and if you are one to collect things along the way to serve as constant reminders of your relationship, it’s the greatest gift to share with your sister: a memory box of clippings, music, old toys and saved receipts of moments. You could keep that box from that moment on and continue to fill it with memories for the rest of your sisterhood, and annually review all of the items to reminisce.
This is such a special moment that will definitely be a tear-jerker when you have it over. It's also not too late to start collecting moments for you to one day share in the future, and if you can get pictures of the past, that’s a bonus.
